My customer service's facilitator super animated and enthusiastic, I guess that's what customer service is about—enthusiasm. She goes around saying, “smile and the world smiles with you!”
She says it with such huge smile that you can't help but be convinced to smile with her.
She gave examples of difficult customers and how we should deal with it, so I actually learned how to be a mean customer too, haha! I think this is bloody mean and hilarious:
Salesperson: Good afternoon. Can I help you?
Look at that person like he/she is an idiot and say, "No"
By the end of the module I can be a super difficult customer!
Then she told us this... that if you're working in starbucks and this silly goose come to your counter and say, “I want neither coffee nor tea.”
Don't panic; offer him alternatives...
"Would you like to have milk? It's caffeine-free, coffee-free, and definitely tea-free."
"Well that sounds good. I'll have milk."
"okay please give me a minute, I’ll go to the back and squeeze for you now."
Then in the background there's this "moooo....." sound.
If you want to provide even better service, you can give that person even more alternatives, like, "would you like cow milk or human milk?"
Same thing, go to the back and squeeze! Fresh milk!
I like teachers like this, getting their point across with humour and creativity, the point is: always provide your customer with alternatives.
Everyone please come admires my timetable, envy me.
